Round 2-club championship has now been completed, in the week leading up to the event and especially on Friday when over an inch of rain fell on the track, weather forecast for the weekend looking the worst, but Wonthaggi put on its best weather for us, glorious sunshine, this caused the track to dry out extremely fast, requiring us to apply water to the track to keep the dust down. The event ran well with only a few minor problems & accidents. The question I get from riders concerns the number of club events we run through out the year, these events do take quite a lot the work to organise, both at club level and on the day, riders offer to help but when they are needed where are they? The main problem is organising corner marshals on the day, I know this is a problem most clubs suffer. We were required to stop racing when corner marshals did not come to report for duty. We had over eighty entries for the day and needed a total of 32 corner marshals, how many missed out? Some even went out twice.

As a corner marshal co-ordinator you do get a lot flack from people if you cannot find someone to replace a corner marshal that is already over stayed his/her time out on the track. We only required an extra 7 volunteers on the day caused for various reasons, accidents & sickness. 

I would like to thank the committee for running a good event, Lap Scorers, Canteen Ladies, Starters, Finishers, Announcers who worked all day to keep the event running. All riders should thank Gary Hore and Peter Hall for the excellent track preparation for the meeting.

And I would like to thank Geoff Taylor Motorcycles for sponsoring the trophies and awards for this meeting without sponsors we would not be able to run meetings. I would like to hope we all support our sponsors.

National ATV Championship
Sat/Sun November 19/20^th

Volunteers are now required for this meeting, I would like a list of people to help with various jobs on the day/s (Starters/Finishers/Corner Marshals ect)

Over 100 ATV”s from all over Australia are to compete at this event.

For all those riders that compete or practice at Wonthaggi this is your chance to show your appreciation at having well prepared track and good facilities as income received is put back into the facilities.

Membership Fee’s 2006
Membership Fee’s have been increased for 2006
Family Membership will now be $80.00 for all riders under 18yo
Single Membership will now be $70.00 for all riders 18 and over
Note that we have deleted the first time joining fees
Social Club Membership will now be $30.00
Our club still has one of the lowest membership fees.
